What started off as a meme is becoming a reality. The Xbox Series X “Mini Fridge” is going on pre-sale this week on October 19 before arriving at retailers globally in December.

Because of the boxy nature of the Xbox Series X console, it was hilariously compared to a refrigerator. Microsoft was only joking, of course, but when Xbox came out as the top brand on a Twitter poll, the joke became a reality.

The Xbox Series X Mini Fridge is a legitimate, working mini fridge, capable of holding up to 10 cans of beverage. It also has two shelves in the door to hold additional stacks. What’s really cool is that it includes a USB port to charge devices and has a DC power adapter so you can take it with you on the go, although I imagine that would be pretty annoying if it’s heavy.

The Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will go on pre-sale on October 19. It will be available at Target and Target.com for $99.99 in the United States. Those in Canada, will have to purchase it from the Xbox Gear Shop during the first wave of deliveries in December. Here’s where it will be available in other regions:

The Xbox Mini Fridge availability will hopefully expand to additional regions in 2022.

This is, without a doubt, one of the silliest promotions Microsoft has done of late, but I’m all for it. There’s a reason Xbox was voted as the top brand on the internet and that’s because the company seems to know how to have fun. They can take a joke and roll with it. Microsoft may not be the best or most trustworthy corporation, but Xbox is here for a good time and knows how to connect with gamers.
