The college football slate for Week 3 has some good matchups on the menu. A few Top 25 teams are on the road in some tricky spots this weekend (Penn State at Auburn, Michigan State at Washington, Ole Miss at Georgia Tech, Oklahoma at Nebraska, and Miami at Texas A&M to name a few), so this weekend could serve up some eventful results to follow up what was a wild Week 2.

Going all in on a couple of big favorites came back to bite us last week (thanks for nothing, Alabama and Notre Dame). Maybe we will steer clear of any lopsided lines this week. Let’s dig in.

Note: All times are ET and all games are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17.

Nebraska just cut the cord on Scott Frost as head coach after a disappointing 1-2 start, leaving no chance for him to come up with a massive win over rival Oklahoma. But the Cornhuskers showed up in Norman to play a better Sooners team last season and they will defend their home field admirably. They won’t win, but Nebraska hangs tight until the end. Oklahoma 36, Nebraska 30

This was one of the more entertaining college football games played last season, and it should be a fun one this weekend as well. Penn State has more big-play ability than Auburn, but weird things can happen on any given Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium. But we’ll ride with the more well-rounded team overall in this one. Penn State 27, Auburn 23

BYU just shows up to play a physical game no matter the opponent. After taking down Baylor last week in Provo, the Cougars head to Oregon to try and take down another Top 25 power-conference opponent. The Ducks could be in some trouble at home in this one. BYU 26, Oregon 24

Texas Tech has already taken down one Top 25 opponent, dispatching Houston in overtime last week, and the Red Raiders should be more than capable of hanging around close enough against NC State on the road. The Wolfpack showed some vulnerability in their season opener against East Carolina. We can feel confident giving Texas Tech 10 points in this one. NC State 30, Texas Tech 24

There is absolutely no reason to trust Texas A&M's offense, but this is a perfect situation to take a team coming off a home upset that magnified those concerns. Call it a gut instinct, but the Aggies show up to play against Miami this weekend in College Station. The Aggies likely have to rely on the defense to lead the way. Texas A&M 24, Miami 17
